About
Two and a half years ago this blog started as a way for me to document the last two months of my pregnancy and the insanity that followed. My daughter was born during the first snowfall in November, 2005 and my life hasn’t been the same since.
It snows a lot here in Michigan, a fact that has not kept me from loving this state. At various times in my life I’ve entertained thoughts of moving to a warmer climate, but my family is here as is my history. I’m living a mere 2 miles from my old high school. I shop at the same grocery store my mom used to take me and my brother to when we were kids. The woman who was my boss at Subway when I was sixteen is now a greeter there, and if I’m checking out at the end of her shift I’ll drive her home.
I met my husband here. He wasn’t a high school sweetheart but a co-worker who was married and apparently harbored enough of a crush on me that he sought me out after separating from his wife. He’s the most understanding, patient man I’ve ever met. Seriously, any other guy would have had his fill of me years ago, but this June Nathan and I will be celebrating 11 years of marriage. We’ll be celebrating with sushi.
Along with being a mother, wife and sentimental fool, I’m also a graduate student of English literature, or at least I will be this coming fall.
If you want to know more, you’ll just have to keep reading.

I'm Heather. I live in Michigan with my husband and daughter and maintain this little enterprise while working full time and attending grad school part time. Don't ask me how I do it because I really couldn't tell you.
